This qualification is the industry qualification for persons undertaking animal control and regulatory functions. Animal control and regulation (also known as urban animal management) is a function provided by local and state/territory governments. It provides a community management service comprising four elements – regulation, education, information and infrastructure.
Benchmark OHS Consulting delivers this qualification auspicing with industry experts who provide the recommended practical training necessary as part of this qualification. This training is nationally accredited and approved through Australian Quality Skills Authority (ASQA).
We train you so that you NEVER get into this type of situation.
We train you to use accessories effectively AND teach you what Resources you MUST have. We train you in Local Government authority methodologies to conduct your responsibilities in a Safe and Effective Manner according to Standard Operational Procedures (SOPs).
To complete this qualification a total of fourteen (14) units of competency must be achieved as specified below.

You may be eligible for Government subsidised funding through the Smart & Skilled Program for this training.

You can determine your eligibility for Smart and Skilled training by visiting the Smart & Skilled website: www.smartandskilled.nsw.gov.au and answering a few short questions in the Eligibility Checker. Click the ‘Check your eligibility’ button at the top of the page. You can then go to the Course Finder to get an estimate of the fee for your preferred course. If you’re an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person, or a Commonwealth welfare recipient, you and your dependants may be eligible for fee exemptions or concessions when enrolling in a Smart and Skilled course.
Your eligibility for this Government-subsidised Smart and Skilled course depends on your previous qualifications:
• From 2016, students who have completed a Certificate IV or higher-level qualification will be able to access subsidised Smart and Skilled training at Certificate IV, Diploma or Advanced Diploma level, depending on the availability of funding for these courses.
How to enrol in a Smart and Skilled course
1. If eligible, you will be required to complete an enrolment form which you can obtain by calling 02 9531 0474 or email: firstname.lastname@example.org
2. You will need:
a) Unique student identifier (USI). It enables you to access your training records and results. If you don’t have a USI, you can visit the government website: www.usi.gov.au to obtain a USI or we will assist you in obtaining one.
b) Evidence of your citizenship/ Aboriginality (if applicable)
c) Evidence of being a welfare recipient (if applicable)
d) Your evidence to be sighted and certified by an authorised representative from Benchmark OHS Pty Ltd
e) To select your preferred payment method (if applicable).
Cost/Fees: If eligible for the Government subsidised funding for this course, the student fees, determined by State Training Services are as follows:
Full Qualification (14 units) – $2,750
Traineeship – $1000
Concession – $240
Part Qualification – will be a percentage of the full student fee calculated by State Training Services.
If not eligible for Government subsidised training, cost of the course will be upon application.
Upon receipt of your enrolment form, and confirmation of all details and eligibility you will be issued with an invoice for the student fee (if applicable). All student fees are to be paid prior to the commencement of the course. Once we have received payment you will receive confirmation by email that you have been accepted into your course with details on how to start.
